A dehydrated champion
splashing some water on his face
standing tall amid a fierce attack
killing every deadly blow with beauty
slashing at the low ones, cutting the high ones,
like an artist giving life to his canvas.
an undeniable promise of a bright future
with high hopes and big wings,
gliding through the clouds of success,
yet another day it was, holding strong he was,
one moment of rush and he fell on the ground,
waves of panic and worries flooded all around
with the prayers of the whole world behind
undefeated all his life, he lost his final fight,
but in a much better place, now he resides,
away from all the worries and troubles of this life,
in the hearts of ours he willl always reside,
as a young man with an overdose of talent,
Rest in peace dear young lad,
you’ll forever remain not out at sixty three.

Day 43 : One Fine Day

February 12 : All about you : Explain why you chose your blog’s title and what it means to you.

When sadness consumes you,
your eyes become blind to happiness around you,
in pain and suffering you live,
with each passing day, you die a little bit more,
each morning sun ray, makes your body decay a bit more,
for in a state of grief you are drowned,
burdened by the shadows of the past,
regretting the mistakes that bite your conscious,
sucking every last bit of life from your soul….

in a need to break free, in a need to free myself,
in search for an escape, spilling everything I have held back,
in an attempt to live again, feel my heartbeat again,
I have embarked upon this journey of my own
a never ending travel, for now it seems,
but I strongly believe that one fine day,
my outside will truly reflect my inside,
one fine day, my heart would laugh,
without faking a moment of joy,
one fine day, I will come out of this pain,
I will come out of this vicious fire of my Melancholy.

Day 41 : The Wrong Class

February 10 Teachable moment You have to learn a new skill. Do you prefer to read about it, watch someone else do it, hear someone describe it, or try it yourself?

I never knew “What love was?”
until we became close friends,
those long phone calls piling up my bill,
those endless conversations in the coffee shop,
everything seemed so innocent, so pure,
unaware of the turmoil in my heart,
you had share all your secrets with me,
how beautiful you looked with those tears in your eyes,
your sparkling teeth when you laughed out loud,
everything about you was just so perfect,

I never knew “What a heartbreak is?”
until I proposed you, shed my feelings in front of you,
that look on your face of shock and disgust,
your empty eyes staring at me, as if interogating me,
my love; a breach of trust it was for you,
even that day, you had tears in your eyes,
but it didn’t make you look beautiful anymore,
for my eyes were wet and everything looked so hazy,
I didn’t knew, a confession would end our relation,
for had I known the consequences, I would had stayed quiet,
in my heart would had burned forever the desires,

I realized my mistake bit too late,
for now, my phone bills are nothing more than monthly charges,
the sips of coffee hardly last for a minute too long,
everything now seems just so dull and mundane,
in a flash, within few minutes, everything was just lost,
I thought I had learned “What is love?”,
but I guess, I had enrolled in the wrong class.

Day 36 : Piece of Plastic

February 5 : Call me, maybe Describe your relationship with your phone. Is it your life-line, a buzzing nuisance, or something in between?

I keep getting advised
to come out and see real life,
for all my time is dedicated to this device
making me ignore everything around
such a nuisance it is for others
for I give it more importance than humans
but, little do they know why I do so,
an escape from reality it is for me,
from all the pain and suffering around me,
an escape from the selfishness and ungratefulness
of all the people, I once, so dearly loved,
for the time and the people, both have changed,
but this piece of plastic has remained the same.

PS : My life is not really like this, but the prompt was too lame to write a poetry upon it lol

Day 35 : So Soon

February 4 Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes You need to make a major change in your life. Do you make it all at once, cold turkey style, or incrementally?

When you first saw him,
you knew he was the one for you,
a white Mercedes and an Armani suit,
Ray-Ban on his eyes, perfectly combed hairs,
you fell for me and I could see it in your eyes,
the delight of his looks and money,
had made you fall in love with him instantly,
while, we still went around together,
with you holding my hands as we walked through,
your mind was occupied by him, I could tell that
with your empty nods to my senseless talks,
your sudden reactions to my random snaps,
it was all slowly falling apart, in front of my eyes,
I could see you drifting away from me,
putting aside all the love I was showering upon you,
you needed more than just hollow promises,
you needed more than just warm hugs,
for all the glitter of the dough had blinded you,
for your love for riches stomped over my love for you,
it was only inevitable that one day when I’ll wake up,
I won’t see you sleeping beside me,
but I didn’t knew, that one day,
will come so soon.

Day 30 : Dreams

January 30 Burning down the house Your home is on fire. Grab five items (assume all people and animals are safe). What did you grab?

Lol is this even a writing prompt? Bleh.. I tried.

with you,
I had dreamed a million dreams,
sometimes I felt excited, sometimes just nervous,
everything I did, I’d find you in it,
every future plan I made, I made it with you as its center,
my life revolved around you,
like the planets that revolve around the sun,
how wonderful were those little imaginations,
I’d built inside my head, like a castle of happiness,
built upon the foundation of love and committment,
everything seemed so picture perfect,
till one day, you decided to leave,
leave this castle of our imaginations,
and live in a castle made of expensive bricks,
burning the beautiful abode we had built,
built to have a blissful future together,
but, you became impatient, you needed riches and comfort,
with me it was always about hard work and struggle,
I do not blame you, I blame myself,
for at the end of the day, I wanted to give, what you sought,
I was a little late in fulfilling my aspirations,
so you took your chance, grabbed on the opportunity and went away,
leaving me behind, with a heart full of love, now broken,
a burning castle slowly turning into ashes,
for all the dreams we had dreamt, suddenly disappeared,
as you woke up and left, while I was still dreaming in my bed.

Day 23: Laws

January 23 Shipwrecked Read the story of Richard Parker and Tom Dudley. Is what Dudley did defensible? What would you have done?

When necessity necessitates
every action becomes justifiable
for humans are selfish creatures
the profit of someone is always
built upon the loss of the other
everyone can morally deny injustice
but at the end of the day
for the better cause
we all just close our eyes
We live in a strange society
for all the voices that are passionately raised,
in defense of law of the land,
are the very same voices that
break all of those laws.
